About the position

The Sales Manager at La-Z-Boy is responsible for achieving store sales goals through exceptional customer service and product knowledge. This role involves leading the sales team, building long-term customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence within the store. The Sales Manager will drive sales initiatives, coach team members, and maintain high standards of customer care, all while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales to consistently achieve store sales goals by personally selling furniture and accessories.
  • Team with Store Manager and selling team to promote In-Home Design Sales program.
  • Maximize store promotions and marketing initiatives.
  • Hire, train, and retain high-quality team members.
  • Coach the team using the Company selling model to drive action.
  • Create an environment where the store team is empowered to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Train, coach, and develop the selling team on product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Ensure associates are provided the necessary tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Champion and role model the La-Z-Boy selling process by overseeing client interactions.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, including showroom displays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of sales experience with a proven track record of success preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build rapport.
  • Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
