About the position

The Sales Account Manager at LANXESS is responsible for managing sales and variable margin within the North American region, focusing on assigned accounts. This role involves providing commercial and technical information to customers, ensuring receivable management, and driving new business development for the Rhein Chemie business unit. The position requires frequent travel across the US and Canada to engage with existing and prospective customers, as well as generating reports and supporting the sales team with quotes and negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage own sales and variable margin within NORAM.
  • Provide commercial and technical information to customers.
  • Ensure proper receivable management of responsible accounts.
  • Focus on new business development for Rhein Chemie (BU RCH).
  • Visit customers across US and Canada to find prospects and represent BU RCH sales portfolio.
  • Generate quarterly reports through import log analysis and reporting.
  • Support other sales team members with quotes and negotiations.
  • Help maintain and coordinate raw material trial list.
  • Manage Distribution Partner account.
  • Participate in recurring meetings.

Requirements

  • B.S/B.A in Engineering (Chemical/Rubber/Industrial) or Chemistry.
  • 3-5 years of chemical industry experience in Sales, preferably in rubber chemicals.
  • Account management skills with high interpersonal skills.
  • Basic sales/business accounting knowledge and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with SAP, CRM, and IBP experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel for more than 50% of the time.
