About the position

The Sales Manager at Quirch Foods is responsible for leading and developing the sales team to achieve corporate sales goals. This role involves recruiting, training, and motivating sales personnel, managing customer relationships, and overseeing the financial aspects of the sales department. The Sales Manager will also implement strategic sales plans, monitor sales activities, and analyze market trends to drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, motivate, monitor and train sales personnel.
  • Help develop strategies to increase sales and manage customer expectations.
  • Understand and manage broker network in specific accounts and markets.
  • Manage all aspects affecting business and department financials, including pricing accruals.
  • Establish department strategy and develop models to attain company profit goals.
  • Manage programming across all national accounts, including ad cycles and discounting.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet corporate goals.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Monitor sales activity and compile sales reports.
  • Analyze prospect traffic and generate reports.
  • Ensure Sales Associates maintain customer relationships throughout the sales process.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs and pricing schedules.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential client base expansion.
  • Monitor and evaluate competition activities and products.
  • Establish procedures for sales presentations and qualifying prospects.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations for the sales program.
  • Meet with clients to assist Sales Associates in negotiating and closing deals.
  • Analyze and control division expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or three to five years related sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
  • Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in various situations.
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet software, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and word processing software.
  • Ability to manage, coach, set goals, and develop employees.
  • Proven sales record and excellent customer service skills.
