About the position

The Sales and Marketing Manager for Plansee's High Performance Materials will develop and implement strategies to enhance the sales and marketing of refractory metals products and services in the USA and Canada. This role involves commercial management, customer education, market analysis, and collaboration with technical teams to optimize customer solutions and increase market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure the success of Sales and Marketing strategies for High Performance Materials products and services.
  • Provide commercial management to customers regarding pricing, terms, evaluations, and delivery.
  • Educate customers on materials, capabilities, and technical expertise.
  • Create marketing intelligence by analyzing trends, conducting market studies, and identifying business opportunities.
  • Implement segment strategy and manage contribution margins to optimize market positioning.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to develop customer solutions.
  • Work with product management and sales representatives to address business objections from prospective customers.
  • Maintain CRM by documenting customer interactions including visits, calls, and emails.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reviews of sales performance and account analysis.
  • Leverage material science to differentiate products in the marketplace.
  • Initiate contact with prospective customers to expand the customer base and promote digital tools.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of industrial sales and marketing experience in a B2B environment.
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 sales module is desired.
  • Proven leadership abilities and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from management and customers.
  • Ability to work on ITAR and export control restricted projects.
