About the position

The Sales & Marketing Manager at Presbyterian Villages of Michigan will be responsible for developing and implementing the marketing plan for The Village of Westland. This role focuses on lead generation, retention activities, and community outreach to enhance the quality of living for seniors. The manager will oversee marketing staff, collaborate with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and ensure the achievement of sales goals through strategic planning and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct supervisory activities such as hiring and firing staff, providing employee orientation and training, creating work schedules, coaching or disciplinary action, and approving employee time sheets for department.
  • Coordinate and communicate with The Village internal marketing staff weekly on sales activities and outreach.
  • Identify, develop, or evaluate quarterly and annual marketing plan, strategy, and sales goals to promote products and services.
  • Use sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of product lines and services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
  • Coordinate all lead generation and retention activities in accordance with the sales goals and marketing plan.
  • Participate in community outreach and public relations activities.
  • Provide leadership in meeting and exceeding census goals.
  • Provide sales effort analysis and develop improvement plans when needed to sustain census goals.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote services.
  • Develop and maintain networking and target market CRM database of key decision influencers, target groups, events, media, and advertising costs per run.
  • Coordinate and arrange photographic opportunities and media relation activities.
  • Identify cross marketing opportunities and areas of networking interfaces.
  • Develop and distribute press releases with VP of Development and Public Relations on newsworthy subjects of interest to the general public.
  • Analyze responses to referral programs, special events, open houses, direct mailings, and other advertising campaigns.
  • Identify collateral material for The Village and provide input on signage.
  • Present formal presentations on topics of interest to key target markets.
  • Conduct competitive analysis via pricing, promotion, product, and packaging of competition for the Village.
  • Collaborate with VP of Sales and Marketing for effective coordination of public relations, marketing material, and presentation of all publications and advertising.
  • Coach sales team on best practices to ensure desired sales outcomes.
  • Direct marketing and sales activities through active leadership in community tours, key decision influencers' interviews, and addressing any concerns during the referral decision and closing events.
  • Develop and monitor budget for department.
  • Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.
  • Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to: Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, safety policies and procedures, and federal, state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Five years related experience required, experience in senior housing or related field preferred.
  • Must be computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office Suite and sales tracking systems.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours including evenings and weekends on occasion.
