About the position

The Sales National Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with key national accounts. This role focuses on driving sales growth, expanding market share, and ensuring customer satisfaction by providing tailored solutions and superior customer service. The Sales National Account Manager will work cross functionally with internal teams, including operations, supply chain, and marketing, to deliver value-added solutions that align with customer needs and company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned national accounts, ensuring revenue growth and profitability.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at national and regional levels to drive long-term partnerships.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and service agreements to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and performance analysis to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Manage rebate and volume programs, balancing competitive pricing with profitability.
  • Undergo extensive training on all product lines offered by the firm and fall protection to develop and maintain product knowledge.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for national accounts, ensuring prompt resolution of inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create customized solutions for national accounts, including pricing structures, product bundling, and value-added services.
  • Drive sales initiatives and promotional programs to increase engagement and product adoption.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities based on customer demand and industry trends.
  • Expand sales through current accounts by securing multi-location agreements.
  • Ensure effective implementation of national contracts across all relevant locations.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and provide updates to internal stakeholders to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and oversee account plans, ensuring execution aligns with company goals and customer expectations.
  • Utilize customer insight to tailor solutions that enhance operational efficiency and increase account value.
  • Represent the Company at all times in a public relations capacity.
  • Maintain a neat appearance in accordance with company dress code policy; always remain courteous and service-minded while dealing with other employees and customers.
  • Protect and maintain confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information including, without limitation, customer information and sales data.
  • Collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Support a culture of collaboration and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including safety and core values, which are of the utmost importance to the organization.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or department management.

Requirements

  • At least 5 or more years of sales experience, preferably in the construction, industrial supply, or distribution industries. Experience managing national accounts is highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to develop and execute sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage high-value relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and present to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess sales data, customer trends, and market conditions to inform business decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an organization where flexibility and teamwork are absolute necessities.
  • Available to customers 24/7.
  • Must be able to work 50+ hours per week.
  • Travel required: 75% to 100%. Some overnight travel is required.
