About the position

The Sales Operations Analyst is a pivotal cross-functional role within the organization, primarily focused on business analytics that pertain to sales performance, sales planning, and the effective utilization of the variable pay management system. This position is integral to managing disputes, enhancing system efficiency, and contributing to the development of future sales plans. The analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that the sales operations are aligned with the overall business strategy and objectives, thereby driving performance and accountability across the sales teams. In this role, the Sales Operations Analyst will assist in the administration of sales planning and variable pay management systems. This includes overseeing system functionality, implementing system enhancements, building sales plans, setting quotas, and tracking plan performance through comprehensive reporting. The analyst will also be responsible for managing system errors and disputes, ensuring that the sales operations run smoothly and efficiently. The position requires active participation in the sales planning process, which encompasses territory design, sales process improvements, and customer assignments. Collaboration with HR Compensation is essential to analyze the effectiveness of incentive plans and to recommend modifications as necessary. The analyst will ensure that all plans and processes are well-documented and will create and model plans for development within the system. Additionally, the role involves creating agile reporting mechanisms that can be utilized periodically to assess performance and make informed decisions. The Sales Operations Analyst will work closely with field teams to reassign accounts, ensuring that sales resources are aligned with the potential of various areas and accounts. This role is dynamic and may involve other duties as assigned, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and process streamlining.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in administration of sales planning and variable pay management system(s).
  • Manage system errors, efficiency, and disputes.
  • Assists through the variable pay management system implementation and future development in the system.
  • Participates in the sales planning process, including territory design, sales process improvement and customer assignments.
  • Collaborates with HR Compensation to analyze incentive plans for effectiveness and determine possible modifications to plans.
  • Ensures adequate documentation is available for all plans and processes.
  • Creates and models plans to be developed in the system.
  • Creates agile reporting that can be repeated periodically.
  • Works with the field teams on re-assignment of accounts to ensure proper alignment of the sales resource with the sales potential of areas and accounts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Prior experience in a sales operations or sales finance role.
  • Well-developed capabilities in problem-solving and streamlining processes.
  • Expert ability to analyze data and organize it into useful information.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to dig deeper from a business ask.
  • Ability to adapt, adjust and move with speed to execute on priorities.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with executive leadership in an open and professional manner.
  • Variable pay management system experience: developing plans, reports, workflows, dispute management.
  • Understanding in scoping projects and timeline to innovate functionality.
  • Strong and professional written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.

Nice-to-haves
