The Sales Operations Manager at SMART Technologies plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the sales forecasting processes. This position requires close collaboration with the sales organization to provide accurate revenue and unit forecasts as part of SMART's ongoing forecasting cadence. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization by creating, maintaining, and improving reporting and analytics across SMART's Unified Commercial Engine (UCE). This role is essential in championing SMART's mission to be a data and systems-driven organization, requiring strong interpersonal skills, robust technical and data analysis capabilities, and a natural curiosity to identify trends and promote opportunities. In this role, the Sales Operations Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This includes leveraging data from various tools such as Salesforce.com, PowerBI, and Microsoft Dynamics to create and enhance reporting that enables deep analysis and data-driven decisions. The candidate will utilize historical data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate sales forecasts and articulate insights to stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and desired impact. Monitoring sales performance metrics and analyzing variances to identify areas for improvement will also be a key responsibility. Additionally, the Sales Operations Manager will actively engage in order management and cross-functional collaboration, working closely with sales, marketing, finance, production, and logistics teams to align sales forecasts with production schedules, inventory levels, and distribution plans. The role requires identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve overall performance in sales and order planning functions. Staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sales and operations planning will be crucial for driving continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will also assist and lead projects as required, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
