The Sales Operations Manager is a critical and high-profile member of the organization, responsible for leading the function that supports performance analytics and insights for the commercial organization. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including monthly business reviews, goal setting, sales and support scorecards, territory planning and administration, CRM systems management, Tableau adoption, and ad hoc analytics that support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, creative, and intellectually curious about data sets and business processes. They will possess the ability to make sense of complex and disparate data, be operationally savvy, and have a passion for finding efficient solutions to improve commercial workflow. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential to create confidence in analyses and proposed courses of action. The Sales Operations Manager will develop and distribute commercial analytics reports and dashboards in Salesforce and Tableau, providing actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making for the commercial and executive leadership teams. They will monitor data integrity in Salesforce and Tableau, lead territory planning, assist with Salesforce quota modeling, and respond to ad hoc requests for insights. The role requires close collaboration with senior leadership to solicit feedback and present recommendations around performance metrics, goals, and scorecards. The successful candidate will also engage with the commercial team to identify process bottlenecks and provide recommendations to improve performance, while establishing best practices for data governance to enhance data quality and transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and distribute commercial analytics reports and dashboards in Salesforce and Tableau.
  • Monitor data integrity in Salesforce and Tableau, coordinating with appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Lead quarterly/annual territory planning, recommending new territory locations based on market modeling.
  • Assist with Salesforce quota modeling and administration.
  • Gather user enhancement requests and analyze requirements, tradeoffs, and solutions.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for insights, delivering material succinctly and accurately.
  • Partner with senior leadership to solicit feedback and present recommendations around performance metrics.
  • Apply quantitative analysis and data visualization to tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and provide recommendations to improve the commercial team's performance.
  • Engage with commercial leadership, reimbursement, and finance teams for process improvements and data analysis.
  • Establish best practices for data governance to improve data quality and transparency.
  • Self-direct and prioritize incoming requests for analysis projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Computer Science or similar programs.
  • 5+ years of strong analytical and problem-solving experience in sales operations, business analyst role, or process improvement.
  • Intermediate to above average skills with Tableau.
  • Intermediate level skills with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Data-driven problem solver with the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
  • Experience in providing meaningful narratives through the use of data and visualizations.
  • Ability to analyze data quickly and effectively, extracting trends and translating them into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching direct/indirect reports.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel as needed.
