About the position

The Sales Operations Manager - Wholesale Division is a pivotal role within Convivial Brands, specifically overseeing the Wholesale Division that includes the Design Design and TABLEAU brands. This position is designed for a working leader who will collaborate closely with the VP of Sales and Sales Leaders to craft and refine effective selling strategies. The individual will be responsible for setting both short-term and long-term goals, developing scalable tracking methods for production, and addressing performance issues proactively. The role requires managing a diverse team that handles various functions including order processing, inventory management, sales representative systems, tradeshow operations, sample management, account analysis, customer service, and administrative tasks. The Sales Operations Manager must be adept at juggling multiple projects simultaneously while identifying synergies across brands to enhance efficiency. This position demands a self-starter who is a proactive problem-solver, dedicated to fostering an environment where the Sales Team can excel and concentrate on increasing sales. The manager will provide leadership and direction to their teams, define processes for operational efficiency, and implement strategic plans in alignment with the organization's vision. In addition to overseeing sales operations, the manager will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing sales automation tools, managing CRM data, and ensuring that all sales processes are documented and streamlined. They will also establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track sales trends and coordinate major sales initiatives, including training programs and sales meetings. The role is crucial for driving business development efforts and optimizing sales processes to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership to the teams under scope of responsibility.
  • Identify, define, and articulate processes for efficiency and improvement.
  • Implement plans and processes to execute the strategic direction from the VP of Sales, Marketing Director, and Product Director.
  • Work with Sales Leadership to develop goals aligned with the overall growth strategy of the organization.
  • Select, maintain, and implement sales automation, CRM, and sales incentive programs.
  • Manage CRM data and analyze it to focus and streamline sales efforts.
  • Define, create, and document all Sales and Sales Operations Processes, working cross-departmentally for efficiency.
  • Establish standard KPIs and metrics to track and report on forecast trends weekly.
  • Coordinate and manage key sales processes such as events, tradeshow operations, and sales ordering tools.
  • Manage all sales activities and programs, including training and major sales initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with sales processes from the sales team.
  • Discover and adopt tools to streamline the sales process based on marketing and sales strategies.
  • Coordinate top opportunity meetings and research key opportunities for the sales team.
  • Analyze sales and product data to develop insights for optimization.
  • Manage sales meeting agendas as defined by sales leadership.
  • Establish technical improvements to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Creative Teams to implement sales training processes.
  • Support an effective merchandising model for National/Regional accounts.
  • Lead and manage the execution of Card Manager and Planogramming.
  • Own the Customer Card in the ERP and contribute to the Item Card in collaboration with Product Development.
  • Play a key role in the implementation and management of the B2B Online Wholesale eCommerce Platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the consumer-packaged goods, retail, or wholesale goods industry.
  • Experience in the social expression product or giftware industry, particularly in product development and project execution.
  • Strong understanding of measuring success in Sales through KPIs and process development.
  • Knowledge of current marketing trends and techniques to align marketing initiatives with sales efforts.
  • Experience in sales and operations leadership, new product development, and marketing strategy understanding.
  • Self-starter and problem solver capable of functioning in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to connect with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to understand business priorities and act accordingly.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal/written communication, and listening skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and online sales strategies.
  • Background in project management methodologies.
