We are looking for a Sales Operations / Bid & Proposal Manager to join our global Electronics Sales Team. This hybrid position will report to one of our Electronics offices located in Portland, OR, Albany, NY, or Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing concurrent pursuits and sales deliverables while connecting our sales team with global Electronics leadership and regional operations. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with account managers, technical experts, operations, engineering, contracts, pricing leads, and graphic designers. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and facilitating interactive workshops to understand client challenges and develop tailored solutions. You will challenge concepts, solutions, and assumptions constructively to differentiate our offerings and create unique value propositions. Additionally, you will support internal stakeholders by conducting client, competitor, and market research, as well as developing strategies that align with client and market needs. You will be tasked with organizing and motivating multi-discipline pursuit teams to create pre-RFP win plans and strategic sales action plans, along with executive-level account communications, proposals, and presentations. Translating win strategies into key themes and driving them into sales documents through effective storyboarding will be crucial. You will also manage the efforts of editors and graphic designers to ensure high-quality deliverables. Promoting Jacobs' brand is essential, and you will work within brand guidelines to maintain visual identity and voice across all sales materials. As a champion of the sales process, you will ensure compliance and governance practices are adhered to in line with our business practices. Furthermore, you will actively collaborate with sales and operations teams to keep Salesforce updated with current opportunities and financials. Responsibilities

  • Planning and facilitating interactive workshops to understand client challenges and develop solutions.
  • Supporting internal stakeholders in client, competitor & market research and the development of client and market strategies.
  • Planning, organizing, and motivating multi-discipline pursuit teams to develop pre-RFP win plans and strategic sales actions plans, executive-level account communications, proposals, and presentations.
  • Translating win strategies into key themes and driving them into sales documents through storyboarding.
  • Planning and managing efforts of editors, creative services/graphic designers.
  • Promoting Jacobs' brand by working within brand guidelines for visual identity and voice.
  • Developing and maintaining sales materials.
  • Championing the sales process, ensuring compliance and governance practices are carried out in line with our business practices.
  • Actively working with sales and operations to ensure Salesforce is updated and current with opportunities and financials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related fields.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in marketing/sales for the professional services industry, preferably in the A/E or construction industry.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to distil complex information into clear plans of action and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with organization in a fast-moving, global environment.
  • Understanding of the full capture and proposal process from pre-RFP to post-RFP.
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite, proficiency in database applications.
  • Working knowledge of using client relationship management systems.
  • Willingness to work after hours and on weekends, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 5 years of experience in the A/E or construction industry.
  • Ability to travel 1-2 days/week to an Electronics office in Portland, OR, Albany, NY or Pittsburgh, PA.
