About the position

The Sales Operations Project Manager for Reporting and Analytics at Staples is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights to support business growth and productivity. This role involves collaborating with various functional leads to develop reporting tools, analyze data, and provide ad hoc analysis to leadership. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work with functional leads to understand business requirements and transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Develop quality reporting tools/products to extract valuable business insights.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and data teams to document data definitions and quality requirements.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and insights that support business growth and productivity.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to Line of Business leadership as needed.
  • Quantify impact and track performance of Sales campaigns and initiatives using sophisticated analytic techniques.
  • Own the analytics delivery process from defining approach to delivering actionable reports.
  • Ensure data is presented in a structured and understandable manner with actionable insights.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with business sponsors and stakeholders to coordinate analytical support and reporting needs.
  • Provide project updates to business sponsors and leadership, including progress, risks, and issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and propose upgrades to reporting and analytical tools.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of previous related work experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst with deep experience in data mining.
  • Working knowledge of data transformation tools such as Alteryx.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex business problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft BI (Power Query, DAX), SSDT, and SSAS.
  • Experience in SQL and statistical packages including Python, R, SAS.
  • Experience using Business Intelligence reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, and MicroStrategy.
