About the position

The Sales Planner for Big Event Video at NBCUniversal is a pivotal role that focuses on the development of strategic sales proposals for both linear and digital platforms. This position is integral to ensuring that the needs of advertisers align with the offerings of NBCU properties. The Sales Planner will manage day-to-day partner relationships and account management tasks, ensuring that all aspects of the sales process are executed smoothly and effectively. In this role, the Sales Planner will work closely with NBC Sports' major events, including the Olympics, World Cup, and Super Bowl. They will lead the creation of proposals in response to incoming Requests for Proposals (RFPs), developing media plans that meet the objectives of both advertisers and specific categories. Collaboration with the sales team is essential to understand the goals and objectives of agencies and clients, allowing for brainstorming and the development of tailored solutions. Additionally, the Sales Planner will engage in digital sponsorships, working with marketing and social teams to price and execute sponsorships during events. This role requires coordination with various internal departments, including Ad Operations, Marketing, Management, and Site Teams, to develop and implement client campaigns effectively. Monitoring and reporting on campaign performance is also a key responsibility, with proactive communication of any issues to both internal teams and clients. A strong understanding of NBCUniversal's products and solutions for advertisers is crucial, as is the ability to establish and maintain relationships with agency and advertiser partners, ensuring superior customer service throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic linear and digital sales proposals that meet advertiser and NBCU properties' needs.
  • Manage day-to-day partner relationships and account management work.
  • Lead the creation of proposals for incoming RFPs by creating media plans to meet advertiser and category objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand agency/client goals and objectives to brainstorm solutions.
  • Work on digital sponsorships with marketing and social, including pricing out sponsorship during plan building and executing the sponsorship during events.
  • Coordinate with all internal departments (Ad Ops, Marketing, Management, Site Teams, etc.) on the development and implementation of client campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, proactively communicating any issues to internal teams and clients.
  • Develop a strong understanding of NBCUniversal's products and solutions for advertisers.
  • Establish relationships with agency and advertiser partners and deliver superior customer service.
  • Respond to sales requests about inventory, ad products, creative specifications, and research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1+ years related experience in online or television media sales or buying.
  • Strong knowledge of media math and audience metrics.
