About the position

The Sales Professional is responsible for serving client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements. This role involves providing exemplary personalized service, generating revenue for the cemetery, and acting as the primary contact for families. The position emphasizes lead generation, building relationships with families, and teamwork with other staff members to ensure high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for leads a minimum of 1-2 hours each day.
  • Obtain referrals from families served by the location.
  • Network and build community and civic relationships.
  • Explain and present services to families served and referred families.
  • Maintain and track activity levels to ensure productivity.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Connect with families through listening and honest communication.
  • Develop an understanding of each family's unique needs and offer solutions.
  • Stay in touch with families to ensure satisfaction.
  • Prepare for all appointments and perform all procedures with professionalism.
  • Follow through on all customer problems and requests.
  • Build trust-based relationships to earn referrals.
  • Educate families on the benefits of pre-planning.
  • Collaborate with funeral directors and other staff to provide seamless service.
  • Review previous services and contacts with families to support current needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of college or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales industry experience preferred.
  • Current state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Insurance license if required by state/province law.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to pass the Company's internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to drive frequently.
  • Flexible hours with the ability to work up to 12 hours in a day.
  • Knowledge of computers and some software.
