About the position

The Sleep Expert at Mattress Firm is responsible for enhancing the in-store customer experience by providing expert knowledge on sleep products and fostering strong customer relationships. This role involves executing sales programs, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and ensuring a seamless omni-channel experience for customers. The position emphasizes personal and professional development through training and education, aiming to help customers find the perfect mattress for their needs.

Responsibilities

• Elevate and enhance the customer's in-store experience by being a trusted sleep authority.
• Execute Mattress Firm selling programs and support a seamless omni-channel experience.
• Cultivate strong relationships with customers to keep them at the center of the experience.
• Provide technical and product knowledge information to customers as a subject matter expert.
• Drive individual sales performance and KPIs while demonstrating company values.
• Execute current visual merchandising and POP standards.
• Adhere to company merchandising and marketing programs to standard.
• Maintain customer relationships during and post-purchase, resolving issues and concerns.
• Seek and accept constructive feedback for continuous personal and professional development.
• Develop skills and product knowledge through assigned coursework and training.
• Maintain awareness of competition and develop strategies to counter them.
• Leverage social media to positively impact brand awareness and increase sales.
• Ensure timely opening and closing procedures and follow cash handling policies.
• Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
• Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Mid-level sales experience in a retail environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and assist customers with load outs up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in following company policies and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the mattress or home goods industry.
• Familiarity with omni-channel retailing.
• Knowledge of visual merchandising standards.
