About the position

The Sales Representative and Field Trainer position at Summit Insurance is designed for current or former athletes with a competitive mindset who are eager to excel in sales and mentorship. This role focuses on selling supplemental insurance products while also training and developing new sales agents. The position emphasizes building relationships, achieving sales goals, and contributing to a vibrant team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Make daily in-person sales calls to small and medium-sized businesses in your territory.
  • Build strong professional relationships and establish trust and rapport with customers.
  • Connect with key decision makers at businesses and schedule appointments for group presentations or enrollment.
  • Report daily sales stats at the end of each day.
  • Submit work schedule and goals to team leader weekly.
  • Attend business networking events to accumulate new leads and referrals.
  • Re-service existing client accounts periodically and systematically.
  • Enter business client information weekly into CRM.
  • Dedicate part of the week to making sales while training and mentoring new sales agents.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills for interactions with customers and sales staff.
  • Leadership skills with some mentorship or leadership experience.
  • Strategic planning abilities.
  • Familiarity with effective sales strategies.
  • Inspirational attitude and ability to create a motivating environment.
  • Ability to train others effectively.
  • Mastery of product knowledge.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Already licensed in Health & Life general lines or willing to obtain the license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience.
  • Candidates within 6 months or less of degree completion.
