About the position

The Sales Representative and Field Trainer position at Summit Insurance is designed for individuals with a competitive mindset, particularly those with a background in athletics. This role involves not only selling supplemental insurance products but also mentoring and training new sales agents. The position emphasizes building relationships with clients, achieving sales goals, and contributing to the growth of the sales team in a dynamic, field-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Make daily in-person sales calls to small and medium-sized businesses in your territory.
  • Build strong professional relationships and establish trust and rapport with customers.
  • Connect with key decision makers at businesses and schedule appointments for group presentations of supplemental benefits programs.
  • Report daily sales stats at the end of each day.
  • Submit work schedule and goals to team leader at the beginning of each week.
  • Attend business networking events to accumulate new leads and referrals.
  • Re-service existing client accounts periodically and systematically.
  • Enter business client information weekly into CRM.
  • Train and mentor new sales agents on the team, helping them develop their skills and achieve their targets.

Requirements

  • Valid Life & Health Insurance License (or willingness to obtain with reimbursement).
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience.
  • Strong communication skills for interactions with customers and sales staff.
  • Leadership skills and experience in mentorship.
  • Familiarity with effective sales strategies.
  • Ability to create a motivating environment and inspire others.
