About the position

The Sales Representative for Hardscaping and Landscaping at MS International, Inc. is responsible for growing and developing sales and margins of the company's hardscape product lines within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves building relationships with customers, providing product knowledge and training, managing displays and samples, and consulting on retail pricing and promotions. The position requires a strong understanding of the market and competition, as well as the ability to analyze sales reports and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with current and potential customers within the assigned territory.
  • Assist customers by providing knowledge and training on company products to ensure effective presentation and negotiation.
  • Understand products and market competition to effectively position products.
  • Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
  • Consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI based on retail business financials.
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on company schedules.
  • Review and analyze sales reports to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Utilize marketing tools to promote company products in the territory.
  • Research and analyze customer needs based on market information.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims related to deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Attend trade shows as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Two or more years of experience in channel distribution sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience in natural stone, hardscaping, landscaping, or hard flooring industries.
  • Strong math skills for calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers and be results-oriented.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving.
  • Resilience to deal with customer rejections.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
