About the position

Crown Equipment Corporation is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Sales Representative/Business Development Representative in Indianapolis, IN. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to develop their careers in sales, with the primary objective of advancing into positions such as Account Representative, Aftermarket Sales Representative, Account Manager, or other commissioned sales roles. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling select products within a designated geographical territory and/or assigned accounts. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of sales while working for one of the world's largest lift truck manufacturers. In this role, you will engage in a variety of sales activities, including making sales calls to qualify prospects both in person and over the phone. You will be tasked with generating leads and participating in information gathering efforts, as well as tracking and following up on leads and inquiries. Collaboration is key, as you may work in a team approach, assisting other sales positions with territory management and communication. Additionally, you will participate in corporate and local campaigns aimed at promoting our products and services. Training is an essential component of this position, and you will have the opportunity to participate in training activities locally, in the field, and occasionally at our corporate headquarters in New Bremen, Ohio. This comprehensive training will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your sales career at Crown Equipment Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Sell select products in a geographical territory and/or assigned accounts.
  • Assist other sales positions with territory management and communication in a team approach.
  • Participate in corporate and local campaigns.
  • Make sales calls to qualify prospects in person and over the telephone.
  • Generate leads and track follow-up of leads and inquiries.
  • Participate in training activities locally, in the field, and occasionally at the corporate headquarters.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the branch.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, entrepreneurship, professional selling, or related business program is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record; ability to safely operate lift trucks for product demos.
