About the position

The Sales Representative for MSI's countertop products is responsible for driving sales growth and enhancing profit margins within a designated geographic territory. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with fabricators and kitchen and bath dealers, providing product knowledge and training, and managing sales tools and displays. The representative will also analyze market competition, consult on retail pricing, and resolve customer issues, all while traveling extensively to meet clients and attend trade shows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with current and potential customers within the assigned territory.
  • Assist customers by providing knowledge and training on company products to ensure effective presentation and negotiation.
  • Understand products and market competition to effectively position offerings.
  • Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
  • Consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI based on retail business financials.
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on company schedules.
  • Review and analyze sales reports to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Utilize marketing tools to promote company products in the territory.
  • Research and analyze customer needs based on market information.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims related to deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Attend trade shows as required and travel locally and occasionally nationally or internationally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Two or more years of experience in channel distribution sales.
  • Minimum of two years of related industry experience in natural stone, slab, or hard flooring industries.
  • Minimum of two years of outside B2B sales experience.
  • Strong math skills for calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers and be results-oriented.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Industry experience in Countertop, Distribution, and Building Materials Sales preferred.
