About the position

The Sales Representative for Flooring at MSI is responsible for growing and developing sales and margins of the company's Tile product lines within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves building relationships with current and potential customers, providing product knowledge and training, managing displays and selling tools, and consulting on retail pricing and promotions. The position requires a strong understanding of the market and the ability to analyze sales reports to identify potential opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with current and potential customers within specific territory
  • Assist customers by providing knowledge and training on company products to their store personnel
  • Understand products, market competition, and how to position products effectively
  • Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability
  • Consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders
  • Estimate delivery dates based on company schedules
  • Review and analyze sales reports to identify sales potential
  • Utilize marketing tools to promote company products
  • Research and analyze customer needs based on market information
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns, and credits
  • Attend trade shows as required
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Two plus years' experience in channel distribution sales
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience in natural stone, tile, or hard flooring industries
  • Strong math skills for calculating figures and amounts
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Intermediate computer proficiency
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well alone or within a team
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving
  • Resilience to deal with customer rejections
