About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sales Representative to join our team selling artificial and natural sweeteners as well as other food ingredients. This position is crucial for our company's growth and success, as you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers within food and beverage manufacturers. This is a remote position based out of the greater Atlanta area, covering a Southeast region, and it offers excellent opportunities for career advancement and a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and commission structure. As a Sales Representative specializing in Food Ingredients, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our customer base and increase sales. You will conduct market research to stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities, collaborating with the marketing team to develop and implement effective sales strategies and promotional campaigns. Your role will also involve preparing and delivering sales presentations to key decision-makers, showcasing the benefits and features of our food ingredients, and negotiating and closing sales contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions for both parties. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this role, as you will be responsible for promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the company. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and logistics, to ensure smooth order fulfillment and delivery. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date sales records, including customer profiles, sales activities, and market feedback, will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in the food ingredients industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong business development skills with the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of food ingredients and their applications in various food products.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage customer relationships and track sales activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
