About the position

The Sales Representative position at VELUX Group focuses on gaining market share and increasing sales in the skylight category within the Southern Florida territory. The role involves developing and executing sales strategies, training dealers and contractors, and actively seeking new business opportunities. This remote position requires strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders in the building industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and follow a comprehensive annual territory plan to identify and pursue sales growth opportunities.
  • Conduct professional prospecting of new business.
  • Make sales presentations to dealers, builders, contractors, and architects to promote VELUX product lines.
  • Train dealers, builders, contractors, and architects on the proper application and installation of VELUX products.
  • Manage expenses within established budgets to maximize profitability in the territory.
  • Assist and train contractors with in-home selling efforts.
  • Complete required reports and analysis in a timely manner.
  • Perform field service activities as needed within the specified territory.
  • Travel to assist other sales representatives with training sessions and local trade shows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or previous trade school training preferred.
  • Some knowledge of the building industry preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to stay informed on current industry trends and apply information to sales opportunities.
  • Strong customer focus and decision-making skills.
  • Strong influence, persuasion, planning, prioritizing, and goal-setting skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to lift, reach, stoop, and climb with weights in excess of 50 lbs.
