About the position

The Sales Representative for Bunzl Distribution is responsible for driving sales and exceeding targets within the Processor segment in the Northeast US territory. This role involves account management, new business development, and building customer relationships while managing customer inquiries and complaints. The representative will work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on disposable products for various industries, including bakeries and dairies.

Responsibilities

  • Increase sales through greater penetration within existing accounts, while prospecting and building business with new accounts
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales and margin KPIs
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Promote new products within existing customer base and drive sales of Bunzl internal and preferred brands
  • Implement and manage pricing strategies within all accounts
  • Complete weekly planning and scheduling of customer visits
  • Present monthly recaps of targeted sales priorities to sales leadership
  • Develop a strong understanding of Bunzl products and demonstrate features and benefits
  • Establish and grow new accounts
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecast to the operational and leadership team
  • Evaluate pricing quarterly to maintain and protect margins
  • Participate in Industry Association Functions such as Trade Shows and other events
  • Work with outside vendors on new materials and innovative packaging solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - preferred
  • Must have 2+ years of inside/outside sales experience
  • Practical sales experience in food/meat processing, industrial processing, personal protection equipment, or related safety items
  • Ability to effectively plan weekly and daily sales and operations activity
  • User level proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Work effectively in situations that involve change and/or competing demands
  • Proficient handling of confidential and time-sensitive material
  • Strong results orientation and sense of urgency
  • High level of personal accountability
  • Ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives
