About the position

The Sales Representative for Hardscaping and Landscaping at MS International, Inc. is responsible for driving sales and enhancing margins of the company's hardscape product lines within a designated geographic territory. This role involves building relationships with retailers and dealers, providing product training, managing displays, and consulting on retail pricing and promotions. The position requires a strong understanding of the market and the ability to analyze sales reports to identify opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with current and potential customers within the assigned territory.
  • Assist customers by providing knowledge and training on company products to ensure effective presentation and negotiation with consumers.
  • Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
  • Consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI based on an understanding of retail business financials.
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on knowledge of the company's delivery schedules.
  • Review and analyze sales reports to identify sales potential with current and new customers.
  • Utilize marketing tools such as catalogs and brochures to promote company products.
  • Research and analyze customer needs and demands based on market information.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Attend trade shows as required.
  • Travel locally and occasionally nationally or internationally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Two or more years of experience in channel distribution sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience in natural stone, hardscaping, landscaping, or hard flooring industries.
  • Strong math skills to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers and be results-oriented.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving.
  • Resilience to deal with customer rejections.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
