About the position

The Sales Representative is responsible for assisting customers in a retail environment, particularly in the medical equipment sector. This role requires effective communication with customers, healthcare professionals, and fellow employees, while maintaining a professional demeanor. The representative will also be expected to learn about various medical products and technologies, ensuring customer satisfaction through knowledgeable service and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers and prepare all required paperwork to meet their needs.
• Learn all aspects of medical equipment and supplies, instructing customers on proper use.
• Build expertise in custom fittings such as support hose, braces, and orthotics.
• Answer customer inquiries regarding medical equipment and supplies, or know where to find the information.
• Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
• Prepare, retrieve, and process paperwork for customer orders, pickups, and deliveries.
• Make follow-up calls to customers as necessary.
• Maintain a neat and tidy store environment, restocking shelves as needed.
• Attend functions during non-business hours as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior retail experience desired.
• Experience in sales and a medical background is very helpful.
• Must communicate and work well with fellow employees, patients, and customers.
• Knowledgeable about equipment and product lines, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient files.
• Computer literate with good telephone skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have 2 baseline tuberculosis screenings upon hire.
