About the position

The Sales Representative at ITT is responsible for managing and expanding a sales territory focused on engineering pumping equipment and services. This role involves developing relationships with new and existing customers, achieving sales forecasts, and contributing to the growth of ITT Gould's Pumps Industrial Process segment. The representative will primarily operate in California, Nevada, and Arizona, utilizing consultative and solution selling techniques to meet sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customers for increased portfolio sales through consultative and solution selling.
  • Establish positive relationships with key buying influences at target accounts.
  • Make sales presentations to customers demonstrating service and upgrade capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain Value Based Commercial Excellence account plans for the territory.
  • Maintain an electronic quote log for all open quotes in the territory.
  • Communicate to Sales Management via monthly reports on competitor information, customer needs, market conditions, issues, successes, and sales efforts.
  • Be available for customer visits to the ITT Gould's Pumps Los Angeles PRO Shop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience selling rotating equipment repair and upgrade services.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in mechanical equipment; training in assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting of pumps.
  • Experience in pulp & paper mills, power plants, chemical, oil & gas, steel, mining & minerals.
  • Ability to work independently with little management guidance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in consultative selling techniques.
  • Familiarity with the industrial process market.
