About the position

The Sales Representative at Design Tanks, LLC is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. This role involves identifying prospective customers, following up on sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing customers. The Sales Representative will also recommend marketing strategies and prepare quotes based on customer specifications, ensuring a smooth sales process from initial contact to product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish contact with potential customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of current and potential customers.
  • Attend industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing customers.
  • Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, marketing techniques, etc.
  • Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual analyses.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Analyze customer requests and needs.
  • Prepare and present company information in front of a group.
  • Adjust content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Provide customer with product or feature recommendations, as appropriate.
  • Prepare quotes for customer.
  • Interact with customer to determine product definition and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review customer agreements (ie: Terms & Conditions, Non-Disclosures, etc) - recommend changes and negotiate as needed to resolve differences.
  • Consult with Operations Manager and Engineering to resolve questions or misunderstandings.
  • Read and interpret drawings.
  • Work with Engineering to bring new product to market.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a 2-year degree in a related discipline, preferably a 4-year degree.
  • 2 - 5 years relevant sales experience preferred, especially with industrial products.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
