About the position

The Sales Representative at Northern Tool + Equipment is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment. This role involves assisting customers with product selection, maintaining an organized sales floor, and promoting store programs such as the Northern Tool credit card and extended service protection plans. The position requires a service-focused mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with the management team to enhance the customer shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers throughout the store.
• Maintain a neat and organized sales floor with stocked merchandise.
• Promote the Northern Tool credit card program and sell extended service protection plans on qualifying items.
• Assist with tasks that improve team service to customers.
• Understand customer needs through probing inquiries and provide appropriate product recommendations.

Requirements

• Customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Flexible availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior retail sales or cashier experience admired.
• A love for tools and equipment or the ability to learn about them.
