About the position

The Direct Sales Representative at Summit Business Group is responsible for establishing connections with business owners and decision-makers at small and medium-sized businesses through in-person sales calls. This role emphasizes cold calling, building client relationships, and delivering product presentations, all while maintaining a flexible work schedule that aligns with business hours. The representative will also provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the claims process, ensuring clients receive comprehensive insurance solutions tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Establish connections with business owners and key decision-makers through in-person sales calls.
  • Conduct cold calling to businesses within the assigned territory.
  • Utilize Custom Salesforce CRM for managing client interactions and sales processes.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations to potential clients.
  • Close sales during initial meetings or schedule follow-up appointments for closure.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and prompt responses to inquiries.
  • Proactively check in with clients to enhance their insurance coverage and ensure their well-being.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in sales or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience in an outside sales position is a plus.
  • Door-to-door sales or business-to-business experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage the full training cycle, including in-person activities and web-based learning.
  • Hands-on experience with e-learning platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Health & Life general lines license or willingness to obtain within 90 days of job offer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of professional (post-high school) work experience.
  • Candidates within 6 months or less of degree completion will be considered.
  • Candidates with less than 4 years of professional work experience who have relevant or specialized outside sales experience.
