About the position

The Direct Sales Representative at Summit Business Group is responsible for establishing connections with business owners and decision-makers at small and medium-sized businesses through in-person sales calls. This role emphasizes building strong client relationships, delivering product presentations, and closing sales while providing exceptional customer service. The position allows for flexible scheduling and requires a proactive approach to client engagement and insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Establish connections with business owners and key decision-makers through in-person sales calls.
  • Cold call businesses to generate leads and close sales.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and follow-ups.
  • Respond to client inquiries via calls, texts, and emails.
  • Provide guidance throughout the claims process to ensure a supportive experience for clients.
  • Proactively check in with clients to enhance their insurance coverage based on individual needs.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in sales or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience in an outside sales position is a plus.
  • Door-to-door sales or business-to-business experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage the full training cycle, including in-person activities and web-based learning.
  • Hands-on experience with e-learning platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Health & Life general lines license or willingness to obtain within 90 days of job offer.
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of professional (post-high school) work experience.
