About the position

The Sales Representative at Waste Connections is responsible for managing the Oxford, MA territory, focusing on building long-term partnerships with large, complex accounts through a consultative selling approach. The role involves prospecting, closing major accounts, and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and profitability at the district level.

Responsibilities

  • Sell commercial waste removal and disposal services.
  • Prepare proposals and call on new and existing customers.
  • Utilize and manage the Salesforce driven CRM tool, ARES.
  • Plan and execute cold calls to influence potential commercial customers into setting appointments.
  • Spend 60-70% of time prospecting in the designated territory.
  • Perform team building, strategic planning, and account management with the internal team.
  • Act as the main point of contact for a current book of business for commercial and industrial accounts.
  • Gather contract expiration dates and document existing customer concerns.
  • Work with other departments to satisfy customer requests for service.
  • Communicate proactively with customers in support of Company pricing initiatives.
  • Perform contractual re-signs and build long-term customer relationships.
  • Conduct waste stream analysis and recognize waste streams requiring special handling or recycling.
  • Participate in Company sponsored activities, trade shows, and chamber of commerce events to build relationships and increase visibility.

Requirements

  • 2 years of outside sales/B2B experience preferred.
  • Solid Waste industry experience is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
