About the position

The Sales Representative at Safety-Kleen is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and managing existing accounts within their designated territory. This role emphasizes building strong customer relationships and collaborating with route drivers to enhance the company's presence and service offerings. The position requires a focus on achieving sales goals and ensuring compliance with health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new customer acquisition and sales pipeline development.
  • Manage, retain, and grow an existing book of business.
  • Set monthly and quarterly goals with the District Sales Manager to identify and close opportunities for additional SK products and services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, fostering an increased Safety-Kleen presence.
  • Work with route drivers to convert new sales opportunities.
  • Grow the current customer base with new lines of business.
  • Prepare and deliver customer quotes.
  • Prospect and convert leads into customers.
  • Achieve monthly sales quotas and budgets.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation required.
  • Tenacious, assertive, and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to develop a book of business.
  • Working knowledge and current use of Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • Business to business sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Time and territory management skills to focus on value-added sales activities.
  • Strong collaboration skills to facilitate a service team approach for customer satisfaction.
  • Strong negotiation skills to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to travel within the region.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in environmental services or hazardous waste management.
  • Familiarity with industrial sales processes.
