Sales Retail Counter

About the position

As a Counter Salesperson at LKQ, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to both walk-in and phone customers. This position involves maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor while assisting customers with their needs, ensuring a positive shopping experience. You will also support operational processes, manage inventory, and contribute to the growth of the business by soliciting new accounts and maintaining relationships with existing customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer as they enter and maintain friendly contact throughout their shopping experience.
• Implement suggestive selling techniques at checkout and assist with problem-solving.
• Order out-of-stock and special order items, create purchase orders, and follow up with customers until invoice completion.
• Maintain orderly files and accurate records of all transactions, including cash drawer management.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock and appropriate showroom appearance.
• Coordinate orders from the warehouse to ensure timely readiness of customer orders.
• Solicit new accounts and rebuild old accounts by researching former customer listings.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Strong customer service background.
• Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Some lifting of up to 75 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior automotive experience and knowledge of automotive parts preferred.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work long hours when necessary.
