The Sales Revenue Analyst role is pivotal in supporting the Revenue Operations & Finance team, which is currently experiencing dynamic growth. This team is dedicated to enhancing business success through strategic problem-solving and operational efficiency. The Sales Revenue team plays a crucial role in driving Datadog's rapid growth trajectory by collaborating across various departments to provide comprehensive commercial, operational, and analytical support. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the calculation of global sales team commissions and ensuring accurate recognition of new business revenue as Datadog expands into new markets. You will work closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, Growth, GTM, Operations, and other stakeholders to tackle complex business challenges and drive impactful outcomes. Your contributions will include spearheading the optimization of commission strategies, leading the execution of innovative solutions to enhance Sales Revenue operations, and conducting thorough analyses of the Deal Close process to ensure soundness in new commercial sales. Additionally, you will establish a robust reporting infrastructure for core sales processes, partner with Strategy and Growth teams to develop scalable sales compensation structures, and grow your technical expertise in Salesforce and other SaaS systems. This role requires a collaborative spirit and a passion for innovation, as you will forge close partnerships with senior leadership to design and operationalize transformative sales strategy programs. Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the strategic ownership, iterative refinement, and optimization of monthly commission strategies across diverse verticals.
  • Lead the conceptualization and execution of innovative, cross-functional solutions aimed at scaling Sales Revenue operations.
  • Collaborate on the customization of analytical frameworks to evaluate the business impact of existing incentive-based compensation plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of the Deal Close process to ensure the efficacy and soundness of new commercial sales.
  • Establish and maintain a robust reporting infrastructure for core sales processes, encompassing quota allocation, compensation plans, coverage and territory management, and real-time performance monitoring.
  • Partner with Strategy and Growth teams in the development of scalable sales compensation structures and initiatives.
  • Grow technical and functional expertise in Salesforce and auxiliary SaaS systems including Tableau, CaptivateIQ, Jira, Clari, Confluence.
  • Forge close partnerships with senior leadership to evaluate, design, and operationalize transformative sales strategy programs.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and process improvement initiatives aimed at elevating the quality and architecture of product usage, revenue, and CRM dashboards.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in revenue, sales operations, FP&A, business analyst or consulting roles demonstrating a solid foundation in finance and business principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze large data sets with precision and accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and influence across diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business models, showcasing an understanding of recurring revenue dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, showcasing adept problem-solving skills and analytical prowess.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of effectively presenting to teams of diverse functions and hierarchical levels.
  • Proven capability in project ownership and delivery, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to manage stakeholders and coordinate activities.
  • Proficient with SQL in respect to querying data from large CRM platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with compensation & business automation tools.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS company and/or multi-national public company.
  • Familiarity with SaaS company economics, deal structuring, and revenue models.
  • Experience working in Mac OS.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, Google Sheets, and Jira.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Metabase, and other business intelligence systems.
  • Experience with advanced analytics to deliver forecasts and/or intuitive models.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role or working with C-suite executives.
