About the position

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a full-time Sales Specialist to join their team. This role is designed to assist and direct marketing and sales efforts in assigned communities or regions, with a focus on connecting with residents and positively impacting their lives. The Sales Specialist will be responsible for creating and executing sales and marketing plans, driving occupancy through external business development, and supporting the onboarding and training of other sales-oriented roles. This position requires significant travel, including overnight stays, to effectively engage with communities and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Function as primary contact for phone inquiries and walk-in visitors to drive occupancy.
  • Responsible for outside marketing to increase professional referrals.
  • Discover the needs of prospective residents and their families and attempt to find appropriate solutions to those needs.
  • Conduct appropriate follow-up activities to facilitate positive relationships.
  • Create and cultivate productive relationships with other businesses and resources for senior adults.
  • Document all planned and completed marketing activities in a provided database.
  • Monitor the marketing budgets and spend lead generation dollars according to campaign needs.
  • Strategize with sales leadership to develop creative programs to connect with key referral sources.
  • Work with Executive Director to maximize opportunities for resident and family-member referrals.
  • Assist in the development and updating of marketing plans as needed.
  • Assist in developing Cedarhurst associates' skills in relationship building and sales techniques.
  • Explore strategic sales approaches for all prospects during coaching sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field and 2-5 years of past experience OR 4-6 years past equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years sales and marketing experience with actual on-site experience in an Assisted Living, Memory Care or Independent Living community preferred.
  • Demonstrated sales closing skills with a consistent record of high occupancy results.
  • General knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living care.
  • Solid understanding of opportunities and limits of other levels of care within senior living.
  • Appreciation of seniors and understanding of the aging process.
  • Ability to collaborate across all functional areas of the business constructively and efficiently.
  • Fast learner with the ability to identify key performance levels across the platform.
  • Professional demeanor with effective conflict intervention and resolution skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and take direction from management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare sales or marketing.
  • Familiarity with senior living industry standards and practices.
