About the position

As a Sales Strategy and Operations Manager at Verkada, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization. In this role, you will be responsible for pulling ongoing and ad hoc reporting for weekly and quarterly business reviews, providing insights that inform critical business decisions. You will identify and implement improvements in current workflows and processes, particularly within Salesforce and other tools, to enhance efficiency and visibility. Additionally, you will be involved in sales enablement by developing programming and content that helps new hires acclimate quickly, while also tracking effectiveness metrics to identify top performers and areas for improvement. Given the startup nature of Verkada, this position requires a hands-on approach, where you will need to roll up your sleeves and engage deeply with the day-to-day operations. You will collaborate with various stakeholders across sales, marketing, operations, product, and finance to troubleshoot systems issues, review insights from analyses, and build future-state processes and systems. Responsibilities

  • Pull ongoing and ad hoc reporting for weekly and quarterly business reviews, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Identify and implement improvements in current workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and visibility, particularly in Salesforce and other tools.
  • Build programming and content to help new hires get up to speed quickly, tracking effectiveness metrics to identify top and bottom performers.
  • Engage in hands-on problem-solving to address immediate challenges while balancing the need for long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in sales, marketing, operations, product, and finance to troubleshoot systems issues and review insights from analyses.

Requirements

  • High-impact self-starter with the ability to take initiative and operate with little guidance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure analyses to answer key business questions and drive decision-making.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with SQL, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
  • Ability to tackle problems independently and document solutions clearly for all audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Flexibility and ability to manage change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in consulting, banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or a startup.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree from a top school preferred.
  • Previous experience in Sales, Sales Operations, or Strategy is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data architecture and building effective data systems.
