The Retail Sales Support (SS) position at Buffalo Rock Company is an entry-level role that plays a crucial part in the Retail Team. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to assist with the delivery and merchandising of products while providing relief coverage for route vacancies that may arise due to vacations, holidays, personal days, or terminations. The Retail Sales Support is expected to service all assigned accounts according to Buffalo Rock standards and franchise policies, ensuring that all customer needs are met effectively and efficiently. In this role, the employee will be responsible for driving to and from customer sites, developing and maintaining positive professional relationships with customers, and completing all required paperwork in accordance with company policies and timelines. Daily communication with the supervisor regarding product shortages, returns, and operational items is essential to ensure smooth operations. The Retail Sales Support will also be tasked with achieving strategic execution objectives and executing account program key objectives, which are vital for the success of the retail operations. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and non-traditional hours, to meet the demands of the job. Employees are expected to attend all scheduled meetings and adhere to customer policies for vendors or suppliers. The role also emphasizes the importance of ethical conduct and continuous self-improvement through training provided by Buffalo Rock Company. Overall, the Retail Sales Support position is integral to maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence within the retail department.

Responsibilities

  • Service all assigned accounts according to Buffalo Rock Standards and based on Franchise Policy for service frequency.
  • Drive to and from customer sites as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive professional customer relationships.
  • Complete all required paperwork according to Company Policy and timeline.
  • Communicate daily with supervisor regarding product shortages, returns, refused orders, and operational items.
  • Achieve required percentage of Strategic Execution Objectives.
  • Execute and achieve all account program key objectives.
  • Properly rotate all products in accordance with Buffalo Rock Policy and Procedures.
  • Prepare pallets, trays, damaged product, and returns for pick up at each account.
  • Assist management in reporting competitive activity and achieving sales goals and metrics.
  • Work weekends and non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings requiring presence and/or participation.
  • Adhere to customer policies for vendors or suppliers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Must have a valid state driver license with a good driving record.
  • Must be D.O.T Certified (where applicable).
  • Must have a valid state Commercial Driver License (where applicable).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods.
  • Experience in customer service or retail environments.
