About the position

The Sales Support Specialist I plays a crucial role in supporting the Division President and Relationship Sales Officers in their sales activities. This position is responsible for facilitating the flow of client requests, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The specialist will assist in deal preparation, follow up on funding items, and provide recommendations to management to enhance business client support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Relationship Sales Officers (RSO) and serve as a back-up.
  • Help the RSO prepare deals by collating minimum underwriting requirements including applications, financial information, and operational history.
  • Facilitate the rapid and orderly flow of client requests through SFG value stream (Credit, Loan Operations, and Accounting departments).
  • Prepare documentation requests to send to the Credit department.
  • Follow up on funding items and work closely with Loan Operations, the Customer, and RSOs.
  • Review loan/lease approvals with RSOs and prepare deals for Loan Operations.
  • Review loan/lease documentation with customers and answer inquiries.
  • Follow up on Credit Exception backlog and Loan Operations exceptions.
  • Assist with implementation, training, and follow up on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Prepare and make recommendations to management on a regular basis to assist business clients.
  • Review and research requests for management.
  • Complete all compliance training related to the position.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant business experience preferred.
  • Prior documentation, credit, accounting, and/or sales experience preferred.
  • Good PC skills - proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InfoAnalysis or similar software, CRM.
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding client interaction, sales, and service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work under time deadline pressures.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to occasionally work on weekends for special projects.
  • Ability to work extended regular hours to support west coast clients and referral sources.
