About the position

The Remote Sales Support position is designed to assist Sales Representatives by managing account maintenance and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves processing paperwork, handling billing, and communicating with customers primarily through email. The position requires knowledge of health insurance benefits and the ability to resolve complex issues calmly. The Sales Support will also be responsible for implementing new groups, managing renewals, and ensuring accurate account data management.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales Representatives by managing account maintenance.
  • Review and process paperwork related to sales accounts.
  • Handle billing and ID cards for customers.
  • Communicate with customers primarily via email.
  • Implement new groups and manage renewals and conversions to new product lines.
  • Research, interpret, and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Create and deliver presentations to external customers.
  • Manage de-implementations for complex groups that terminate from the portfolio.
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of account data, including initial setup and benefit documentation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in service or healthcare industries in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid NYS Life, Accident and Health license within six months of employment required.
  • Familiarity with NYS and Federal regulations and underwriting policies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • PC skills essential, including spreadsheet and word processing applications, database functions, and sales force automation software.

Nice-to-haves

  • LAH certification preferred but not required.
