About the position

The Sales Tax Accountant position is a temporary role focused on ensuring compliance with sales tax obligations while minimizing liabilities. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and filing sales and use tax returns for multiple states, requiring a strong understanding of tax regulations and proficiency in tax management systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file sales and use tax returns from Vertex for multiple states.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding sales tax.
• Minimize the company's sales tax liabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (Accounting preferred).
• 3-5 years of multi-state sales tax accounting experience.
• Experience researching tax rules and regulations for products and services.
• Proficiency with Vertex Returns or similar tax management systems required.
• Strong Excel skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA license helpful.
• Oracle and Tableau experience a plus.
