About the position

The Territory Manager for VMRD, Inc. will be responsible for driving sales and strategic initiatives in the Eastern U.S. region, focusing on the biotech diagnostics sector. This full-time, exempt position is remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a strong connection with customers and the market. The individual will play a crucial role in meeting short-term sales goals while positioning the organization for sustainable long-term growth. A successful candidate will possess a robust background in sales, customer service, and marketing, with a particular emphasis on the veterinary and veterinary diagnostics marketplace. In this role, the Territory Manager will cultivate relationships with existing and potential customers to maximize sales, enhance brand presence, and increase market share. Responsibilities include developing and managing customer relationships, creating sales plans, forecasting, budgeting, and overseeing the sales cycle. The manager will vigorously advocate for customer interests and support efforts to gain access to product markets through active engagement with customers and industry stakeholders. Collaboration with VMRD staff will be essential to facilitate product fulfillment and champion all aspects of the product portfolio within the organization. The position also involves maintaining a customer value management process, contributing to marketing and promotional programs, and providing sales forecasts to management. The Territory Manager will conduct market research to inform new product development and pricing strategies, ensuring that competitive pricing structures and customer sensitivities are documented and maintained. A results-oriented team player, the manager will work closely with sales and marketing personnel and lead training initiatives as necessary. Overall, this position requires a commitment to professional development, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach to sales and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates existing and potential product customers to maximize sales, grow brand presence, and increase market share.
  • Develops and manages customers, sales plans, forecasting, budgeting, and sales cycle.
  • Vigorously defends and advocates for customer interests.
  • Supports efforts to gain access to product markets through engagement with customers and industry.
  • Works with VMRD staff to facilitate product fulfillment.
  • Champions all aspects of the product portfolio within the organization.
  • Maintains customer value management process providing targets, forecasts, potential and actual sales models.
  • Contributes to, and executes marketing and promotional programs.
  • Provides forecasts of the Products Division to VMRD management, as needed.
  • Contributes to the new product development process by conducting and documenting market research and intelligence.
  • Contributes to the pricing processes; collects and documents competitive pricing structures and customer pricing sensitivities.
  • Collaborates continuously with VMRD sales and marketing personnel; leads by example.
  • Works in positive collaboration with 'breakout' teams as necessary to achieve strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years related sales, marketing, and customer service experience with a successful track record.
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, animal science, business, marketing, or equivalent.
  • Proven success in marketing, promotions, and campaign activities.
  • Strong work ethic and drive to meet ambitious goals; demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in MS software and CRM skills are a plus.
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills; excellent organization, planning, and execution skills.
