About the position

The Mass Spectrometry Territory Sales Manager at SCIEX is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales of SCIEX Mass Spectrometry (MS) products within a designated territory, which includes New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and parts of Massachusetts. This position is integral to the SCIEX Commercial Organization and reports directly to the Sales Manager. The primary objective of the role is to achieve revenue and order growth by engaging with existing customers, acquiring new customers, cross-selling to current clients, and converting competitors' customers. The successful candidate will work closely with distribution channels to enhance sales opportunities. In this role, the Territory Sales Manager will be expected to meet and exceed assigned sales targets while accurately forecasting monthly and quarterly sales. The individual will serve as a subject matter expert in analytical workflows, particularly in LC/MS/MS and chromatography, providing sales expertise regarding market trends, applications, and competitive landscapes. The role requires proficiency in using sales tools and CRM systems to manage the sales funnel effectively and achieve business results. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of SCIEX's product portfolio and the ability to communicate technical product information clearly to customers. This includes articulating the value proposition based on the specific needs and interests of each customer. The Territory Sales Manager will also collaborate in a team selling environment, navigating complex sales situations across various functions, including Applications Support, Field Service, Product Demonstration, Product Management, and Market Development Managers. Continuous prospecting and funnel growth are essential components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue and order growth for SCIEX Mass Spectrometry products within the designated territory.
  • Engage with existing customers and acquire new customers to expand the client base.
  • Cross-sell to existing customers and convert competitors' customers.
  • Collaborate with distribution channels to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in analytical workflows, particularly LC/MS/MS and chromatography.
  • Utilize sales tools and CRM to manage the sales funnel and achieve business results.
  • Communicate technical product information and value propositions to customers based on their needs.
  • Work in a team selling environment to navigate complex sales situations across multiple functions.
  • Continuously grow prospects and sales funnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences or a similar subject area.
  • Current experience in direct scientific capital equipment sales is highly desired.
  • 3 years of sales experience preferred, with a focus on LCMS.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the territory, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
