Midwest Motor Express is seeking a Logistics Sales Territory Manager for our Omaha, NE Terminal. This position is crucial for driving sales and expanding our customer base in the Less-than-truckload (LTL) sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in territory management and a passion for customer service. The role involves calling on both regular and prospective customers to solicit new business opportunities and evaluate existing services. You will be responsible for preparing proposals and bids to secure sales, as well as planning and organizing your daily work schedule to maximize customer engagement. In this fast-paced, multi-department environment, you will keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, including daily call reports and weekly work plans. Monitoring competition is key, as you will gather current marketplace information on pricing and services to recommend changes that enhance our offerings. Resolving customer complaints and maintaining professional knowledge of the transportation industry are essential aspects of this role. You will also be expected to maintain historical records on area and customer revenue, contributing to the overall team effort by achieving related results. Responsibilities

  • Call on regular and prospective customers to solicit new or expanded business opportunities.
  • Confers with customers to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services.
  • Ensure professional handling of the company's products and services.
  • Prepare proposals and bids to obtain sales.
  • Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.

  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on competitive pricing and services.
  • Recommend changes in service and pricing by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.

  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer revenue.
