About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to take on the role of Sales/Territory Manager in the Heavy Equipment and Trucking Industry. This position is crucial for ensuring that our service department operates efficiently and effectively, providing top-notch customer service while managing a team of skilled employees. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and a strong background in management or diesel repair and service management. The role requires a proactive approach to scheduling service work, managing warranty claims, and ensuring that all service equipment is maintained in optimal condition. As a Sales/Territory Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a priority system for scheduling all service work, ensuring that all manufacturer warranty claims are completed and filed in a timely manner according to the manufacturer's requirements. You will also be tasked with scheduling and assigning job and work areas to employees based on their skills and knowledge, ensuring that the service department is equipped with the necessary tools and that service equipment is available and maintained in good working order. In addition to these responsibilities, you will make recommendations regarding the purchase of service vehicles, coordinate training programs, and monitor metrics on a monthly basis to assure achievement of departmental goals. This role is not just about managing the service department; it also involves performing other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the company. Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and adhere to a priority system for scheduling all service work.
  • Ensure that all manufacturer warranty claims are completed and filed in a timely manner according to manufacturer's requirements.
  • Schedule and assign job and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure that the service department is equipped with the necessary tools, and service equipment is available and maintained in good working order.
  • Make recommendations regarding the purchase of service vehicles, correctly maintain vehicles and complete required maintenance records.
  • Coordinate training program and service-related customer clinics.
  • Monitor metrics on a monthly basis to assure achievement of departmental goals.
  • Perform other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the company.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required; Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience or a combination of 5 years diesel repair and service management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency.
