About the position

As a Sales Territory Manager at AAA Cooper Transportation, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and growing existing accounts within your assigned territory. Your primary focus will be on identifying opportunities to improve productivity and profitability while also managing National Accounts at a local level. This position requires effective communication skills as you will be the single point of contact between customers and various departments within AAA Cooper. You will negotiate rates and address any issues that arise, ensuring that customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up appointments with both existing accounts and prospective customers. Your ability to identify and secure profitable revenue within your geographic area will be key to your success. You will manage both new and established accounts, striving for continued revenue growth and the achievement of strategic sales objectives. Gathering information from prospective customers will be essential in establishing strong business relationships, and you will need to communicate customer requirements to the Operations team and other departments. Additionally, you will represent AAA Cooper Transportation at off-site meetings, showcasing the company's commitment to meeting customer needs. This position may also involve performing various tasks as assigned by the Terminal Manager, contributing to the overall success of the sales team and the company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Set up appointments for existing accounts and prospective customers.
  • Identify and secure profitable revenue within the assigned geographic area.
  • Manage new and established accounts for continued revenue and profit growth and achievement of strategic sales objective goals.
  • Gather information from prospective customers in order to establish a business relationship.
  • Communicate to Operations and various departments the customer's requirements.
  • Communicate to customer our commitment to meet requirements established by customer.
  • Assist in the negotiation of price and services provided.
  • Represent AAA Cooper Transportation at off-site meetings.
  • Perform various jobs assigned by Terminal Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining existing accounts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload transportation services.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry and market trends.
