About the position

The Sales Territory Manager at Bobcat of the Rockies is responsible for managing sales activities within a designated territory, focusing on building relationships with customers, securing orders, and promoting the company's products and services. The role requires a strong understanding of the equipment offered, as well as the ability to identify and fulfill customer needs through proactive outreach and technical assistance. The position is integral to the company's growth and customer satisfaction, with opportunities for advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships and build confidence with assigned customers to win their business.
  • Secure orders and conduct surveys of the assigned territory as directed.
  • Locate new prospects and determine their needs; plan and execute sales calls and presentations.
  • Promote the entire company including parts, service, rental, and supplies in the territory.
  • Study construction job reports to identify major jobs and general contractors.
  • Proactively contact contractors to fulfill potential equipment needs.
  • Assist customers in solving problems and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Maintain familiarity with new products developed by suppliers and stay updated on product line changes.
  • Ensure correct delivery of equipment and prompt service in case of deficiencies.
  • Keep management informed of significant developments in the territory and maintain an updated mailing list.
  • Attend all sales meetings, training, and trade shows as requested.
  • Use company-approved technology to maintain a customer database and calling schedule.
  • Maintain records of calls, reports, and customer equipment ownership; control travel and entertainment expenses.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and seek help from other sales staff and the Sales Manager as needed.
  • Responsible for loading, hauling, and unloading of equipment and components.
  • Maintain good working records for time, distance, and regulatory records as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or associate degree preferred.
  • Comfortable with making cold calls.
  • Strong typing skills and proficiency in computer use for quotation generation.
  • Organizational ability to schedule and follow up on commitments and meet deadlines.
  • Sense of urgency and high work ethic.
  • Strong driving and equipment operator skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of equipment operations.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Strong background and experience in operating transportation equipment required.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales, particularly in the equipment industry.
  • Knowledge of Bobcat equipment and services.
