Responsibilities

  • Call on regular and prospective customers to solicit new or expanded business opportunities.
  • Confer with customers to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services.
  • Ensure professional handling of the company's products and services.
  • Prepare proposals and bids to obtain sales.
  • Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
  • Work in a multi-department, fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and regular sales territory manager analysis.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on competitive pricing and services.
  • Recommend changes in service and pricing by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the transportation industry.
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer revenue.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Create a work environment that will recognize and encourage the individual contributions of the employees.
  • Provide for ongoing investment in associates' education.
  • Maximize return on investments and continually improve processes to eliminate opportunities for errors.
