About the position

The Sales/Territory Manager position in the Heavy Equipment/Trucking Industry involves overseeing service operations and sales within a designated territory. The role requires strong customer service skills and a background in management or diesel repair. The manager will be responsible for scheduling service work, ensuring compliance with warranty claims, and maintaining service equipment, all while driving departmental goals and metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and adhere to a priority system for scheduling all service work.
  • Ensure that all manufacturer warranty claims are completed and filed in a timely manner according to manufacturer's requirements.
  • Schedule and assign job and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure that the service department is equipped with the necessary tools, and service equipment is available and maintained in good working order.
  • Make recommendations regarding the purchase of service vehicles, correctly maintain vehicles and complete required maintenance records.
  • Coordinate training program and service-related customer clinics.
  • Monitor metrics on a monthly basis to assure achievement of departmental goals.
  • Perform other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the company.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required; Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience or a combination of 5 years diesel repair and service management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency.
