About the position

As a Sales Territory Manager at AAA Cooper Transportation, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and growing existing accounts within your assigned territory. Your primary focus will be on enhancing productivity and profitability while also managing National Accounts at a local level. This position requires effective communication with customers to understand their requirements and relay this information to various departments within the company. You will act as the single point of contact for customers, ensuring that their needs are met and that any issues are addressed promptly. Negotiating rates and services will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you strive to secure profitable revenue streams within your geographic area. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for setting up appointments with both existing accounts and prospective customers. Your ability to identify and secure profitable revenue opportunities will be essential for achieving strategic sales objectives. You will manage both new and established accounts, focusing on continued revenue growth and profit enhancement. Gathering information from prospective customers will be vital in establishing strong business relationships, and you will need to communicate effectively with operations and other departments to ensure customer requirements are met. Additionally, you will represent AAA Cooper Transportation at off-site meetings, showcasing the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you will be expected to perform various tasks assigned by the Terminal Manager, contributing to the overall success of the sales team and the company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Set up appointments for existing accounts and prospective customers.
  • Identify and secure profitable revenue within the assigned geographic area.
  • Manage new and established accounts for continued revenue and profit growth and achievement of strategic sales objective goals.
  • Gather information from prospective customers in order to establish a business relationship.
  • Communicate to Operations and various departments the customer's requirements.
  • Communicate to customer our commitment to meet requirements established by customer.
  • Assist in the negotiation of price and services provided.
  • Represent AAA Cooper Transportation at off-site meetings.
  • Perform various jobs assigned by Terminal Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to identify and secure profitable revenue opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) transportation services.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry and market trends.
